The Barrington 4th of July Parade Committee is pleased to announce that the Grand Marshal of this year’s parade will be Mr. David F. Nelson.  David Nelson has been a resident of the greater Barrington area and has served the community in many capacities over the years. Mr. Nelson served as a Village Board Trustee from 1977 to 1985, as Village President from 1985 to 1989, and most recently as Cuba Township Supervisor from 1997 to 2017. He has also served on many other Boards and Councils, such as the Barrington Sesquicentennial Committee, Our Town Barrington Volunteers, the Barrington Area Arts Council, Barrington Area Conservation Trust, the Good Shepherd Governing Council, the Barrington Area Historical Society, and Founder of Hospice of Northeastern Illinois. Because of his many contributions to the betterment of the Barrington area and his many years of public service, the Parade Committee feels Mr. Nelson is an excellent representation of this year’s parade theme:

This year’s parade kicks off at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4th from Barrington High School and will run along Main Street ending at the train station.
