This year’s 4th of July Parade will feature a kids’ “Bicycle Brigade!” All kids are welcome to join their neighborhood and decorate their bikes, strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs to be a part of the parade. We’re currently looking for Neighborhood Captains to help organize bicycle decorating and day-of parade coordination.

Registrations Open for 2018 Fourth of July Parade!

Registrations are now open for the 2018 Fourth of July Parade, which will step off at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 from Barrington High School. This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Illinois Bicentennial.” To participate, click “Participate in the Parade” above or call 847-304-3406.

Parade Committee Announces Grand Marshal

The Barrington 4th of July Parade Committee is pleased to announce that the Grand Marshal of this year’s parade will be Mr. David F. Nelson. David Nelson has been a resident of the greater Barrington area and has served the community in many capacities over the years. Mr. Nelson served as a Village Board Trustee from 1977 to 1985, as Village President from 1985 to 1989, and most recently as Cuba Township Supervisor from 1997 to 2017. He has also served on many other Boards and Councils, such as the Barrington Sesquicentennial Committee, Our Town Barrington Volunteers, the Barrington Area Arts Council, Barrington Area Conservation Trust, the Good Shepherd Governing Council, the Barrington Area Historical Society, and Founder of Hospice of Northeastern Illinois. Because of his many contributions to the betterment of the Barrington area and his many years of public service, the Parade Committee feels Mr. Nelson is an excellent representation of this year’s parade theme:

This year’s parade kicks off at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4th from Barrington High School and will run along Main Street ending at the train station.

Parade Committee Announces Date and Theme

Join in celebrating our country’s Independence Day at Barrington’s annual 4^th of July Parade on Tuesday, July 4^th, 2017. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. from Barrington High School and will run along Main Street ending at the train station. The theme of this year’s parade is:

Celebrating America’s Superheroes
– A Community Celebration–

From traditional superheroes such as Superman and Batman to our presidents and politicians (past and present), and to everyday superheroes like moms and dads, we’re celebrating them all this July 4th!

We look forward to creative floats and parade entries from our many wonderful businesses, neighborhoods, charitable organizations, churches, sports teams, riding clubs, dancers, and musicians to help us celebrate our country’s Independence Day. Applications are being accepted from now until June 17th for participation in this year’s parade. Applications may be dropped off at the Barrington Village Hall or mailed in, and the application fee is discounted for those forms received before May 31st.

The Barrington 4^th of July Parade Committee is pleased to announce that this year’s theme will be “Celebrating America’s Superheroes.” From traditional superheroes such as Superman and Batman to our presidents and politicians to everyday superheroes like moms and dads, we’re celebrating them all with creative floats and parade entries this July 4!
